Naredbom bana kraljevine Hrvatske, Slavonije i Dalmacije od 8. siječnja 1919. broj 86 na tom području ima se izvršiti statističko žigosanje novca Austrougarske te njihova valorizacija od strane nove vlasti Države Srba Hrvata Slovenaca. Kako u ostalim dijelovima države, tako i u Hrvatskoj. Žigosanje su imale izvršiti Kotarske oblasti, Kraljevske kotarske oblasti, Gradska poglavarstva, Županijske oblasti, Porezni uredi, Solarski uredi, Financijska Ravnateljstva i slične financijske ustanove.

According to the decree of the governor of Kingdom SHS of January, 8 1919, No.86 statistical overpirnt of Austria - Hungary banknotes must be done and validated by the new government of State SHS in all parts of the newly formed country, including Croatia. The overprint had to be carried out by District regions, Kings district regioons, town halls, county regions, tax office, salt offices, financial principality office, and similiar financial institucion.

 For the purposes of collector of banknotes, the decision of the Croatian National Bank of 3 April 1996., the Croatian National Bank has prepared and included in selling kits of the Croatian dinar banknotes invalid. Banknotes are embedded in a special folder, which consist of plastic covers and page insertion support, separate partition sheets. Sets used for the formation of the banknotes that were not used in circulation. All banknotes invested in kits carry an equivalent designation and serial number.

On all banknotes, Croatian dinar is the main motive of the Croatian World renowned scientist from Dubrovnik (Croatia), Ruder Boskovic

On banknotes 1-1000 HRD motive is the Cathedral of St. Stephen in Zagreb, on the right side, in the central part of the motive are Stone Gate in Zagreb.

Ivan Mažuranić; 11 August 1814 – 4 August 1890) was a Croatian poet, linguist and politician—probably the most important figure in Croatia's cultural life in the mid-19th century. Mažuranić served as Croatian Ban of  Kingdom of Croatia Slavonia, Dalmatia between 1873 and 1880.

On banknote is:

City of Rijeka and  St. Vitus Cathedral in Rijeka.

Rijeka  is the principal seaport and the third largest city in Croatia (after Zagreb and Split). It is located on Kvarner Bay, an inlet of the Adriatic Sea.
