New in Collection

I would like to thank a friend, mr.Vidas from Lithuania, on very nice banknotes from Latvia and Lithuania. Banknotes are rare one and from older period.

About history.
The Republic of Latvia, the central Baltic state in east Europe, has an area of 24.595 sq.mi and a population of 2.6 million. 
Capital is Riga. The Latvians, of Aryan descent, were nomadic tribesman who settled along the Baltic prior to the 13th century. Lacking a central goverment, thay were easliy concuered by the German Teutonic knights, Sweden and Poland. Following the third partition of Poland by Austria, Prussia and Russia in 1795. Latvia came under Russian domination and did not experience autonomy until the Russian Revolution of 1917 provided an opportunity for independence. 
The Latvian Republic was established on November 18, 1918. It was occupied by Soviet troops in 1939 and annexed to the Soviet Union in 1940. Following German rule from 1941 - 44 than it was retaken again by Russia and reestabilished as a member of S.S.Republic of the Soviet Union. 
Latvia declared Its independence from the CCCP on August 22, 1991.

About history.
The Republic of Lithuania southernmost of the Baltic states in east Europe, has an area of 26.173 sq.mi and a population of 3.6 million. Capital Vilnius.
Lithuania emerged as a grand the Lublin Union in 1569. In the 15th century it was a major power  of central Europe, stretching from the Baltic to the Black Sea. Following the third partition of Poland by Austria, Prussia and Russia, 1795. Lithuania came under Russian domination and did not regain its independence until shortly before the end of World War I. when it declared itself a sovereign republic.
The republic was occupied by Soviet troops, in June 1940 annexed to the CCCP. Following the German rule 1940 - 44 and again retaken by Russia and reestabilished as a member republic of the Soviet Union.
Lithuania declared its Independence March 11, 1990.
